LDAP

LDAP integration in USP is powered by two reusable configuration items: LDAP Connections and LDAP Queries. These items are used to define how USP communicates with an external LDAP directory and how it performs authentication operations.

LDAP Components

To use LDAP in USP, you must define the following components:

LDAP Connection

Specifies how USP connects to the LDAP server, including hostname, port, and TLS settings.

LDAP Query

Defines the search and filtering logic used to locate and validate credentials within the directory.

Each LDAP Connection and LDAP Query is a standalone configuration item. This modular design allows you to reuse and manage LDAP logic consistently across multiple authentication contexts.

Once configured, these components should be referenced by:

• User LDAP Authentication: For authenticating Users to the USP Admin UI.
• Rules: For authenticating inbound client connections to USP Server instances.
